Ali is a black cat who came to us very sick, weak, and scared. What started as severe flu quickly revealed something much more serious — FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), a condition that weakens his immune system and makes recovery much harder.
Today, Ali is still fighting. But he cannot do it alone.
💔 Ali’s Story
A rescued community cat…
When Ali was first brought in, he was aggressive, dehydrated, and extremely unwell. He had:
- Severe flu and infection
- Jaundice (yellowing due to liver stress)
- Mild anemia and poor nutrition

He was placed on IV drip, antibiotics, and supportive care, and slowly began to stabilise.
For a brief moment, things improved — he started eating, calming down, and responding to care.
But then his condition worsened again.
Ali began experiencing:
- Recurring fever
- Loss of appetite
- Severe lethargy
- Suspected FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)
- Confirmed FeLV (a lifelong virus affecting immunity)
At one point, his blood levels dropped dangerously low, and he needed an emergency blood transfusion just to survive.

His condition requires continuous medical support, and without it, his health could decline rapidly.
⚠️ What Ali Is Facing
Ali’s condition is complex and unstable.
- He develops fever frequently
- His appetite is inconsistent — sometimes eating, sometimes not
- He becomes dehydrated easily, requiring ongoing fluids
- His flu is persistent and severe, worsened by FeLV
- He is very underweight and weak

Even now, he has episodes of swelling, infection, and exhaustion.
👉 His care is ongoing, intensive, and unpredictable
💉 Ongoing Treatment
Ali currently requires:
- Daily FIP injections (trial treatment)
- Antibiotics for persistent infection
- Subcutaneous fluids to prevent dehydration
- Force-feeding / syringe feeding when he cannot eat
- Close monitoring for fever and complications
This is long-term, labour-intensive, and costly care.
